U12 Pirates reached the Final of the Midland Junior Premier League Cup

The under 12 Pirates beat Belvedere Park 1-0 on Saturday in the semi final of the MJPL Cup, the goal was scored by Luke Bahia early in the second half of the game following a corner from Alfie Bateson, the boys then defended brilliantly for the rest of the match and could have scored more, having at least 2 good chances, however they didn’t need any more goals and deservedly secured their place in the final.

During their cup run they have only conceded 2 goals which is remarkable, they have come through some incredibly tough matches against high quality opposition and played with a passion and commitment that few could match.

The team are a credit to Droitwich Spa Boys and Girls FC and to their parents.  Not only are they a fine side, they have also been complimented on their behaviour and sportsmanship, the referee on Saturday remarked on how sporting they were during and after the game.

The boys should be very proud of how they have played, we are sure that they will give a great account of themselves in the MJPL Cup Final which will be against Oadby Owls from Leicestershire on SAT 6th MAY 2017 4pm at Rugby Town Juniors FC

Hopefully they can bring the trophy back to Droitwich!
